Welcome to our 2011 Cruising Schedule

2011 will again be an exciting year for Duke & Duchess. We are, as always, trying some new routes as well as old favourites.

This year we shall again be featuring two cruises that take us to the rejuvenated city of Liverpool (cruises 17, 18). We shall also be taking a very leisurely cruise down the River Nene so that we can really appreciate its hidden gems (cruise 11).

Two favourites that we shall feature, due to overwhelming demand, will be the Caldon canal (cruises 14, 15) and the lazy upper reaches of the River Thames starting and ending in Oxford (cruise 2).

On the ever-popular Llangollen canal, we shall be spending time exploring the Montgomery canal (cruise 20)

We’re also planning two exciting 'firsts' for us, which will depend on suitable weather conditions and permissions being obtained: on the tidal Thames through the heart of London (cruise 9), and on the Manchester Ship Canal (cruise 16).

Many other firm favourites of our cruises are contained in the schedule. There will be plenty of aqueducts, tunnels, boat lifts, locks - and above all, unspoilt countryside for those who love these things.

Travel Advice
The majority of our guests arrive and depart the boats by public transport (train or coach), whilst some are brought and collected by relatives or friends. Others come by car or taxi. Most of our start/finish points are chosen because they have good public transport - a nearby railway and/or coach station.

We will send you advice about travel when you book, and full joining instructions, including detailed maps of how to find the boats, nearer the time (generally when you pay the final balance for the cruise). If you arrive by train, you can usually pick up a taxi at the station and simply give the map to the taxi driver.

For most of our cruises, we can arrange car parking if requested in advance. Our travel information includes advice on using public transport to return to your car at the end of the cruise. Alternatively, we can help you to arrange return transport by taxi.

Included in the price
Full board accommodation, use of all facilities, a glass of wine with dinner, and VAT at our current ratings.

Not included in the price
Our prices do not include bar bills, admission prices to local attractions, transport to/from the boats and car parking.
